Learning Chinese online offers many advantages. Students can attend classes from any location, which is especially convenient for those who live in other places or prefer to attend classes from the comfort of their own homes. All that is needed for remote learning is the Internet and a computer.

The Confucius Institute offers all course options. Students are taught be native speakers and Chinese language teachers. At the end of the programme, they receive certificates of successful completion of the Chinese language course, and have the possibility to take the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK and HSKK), an international standardized test of Chinese language proficiency, assesses non-native Chinese speakers’ ability in using Chinese as a second language), or the YCT exam for primary school students, at the Confucius Institute, which is also the Chinese Proficiency Test Centre.

Number of characters mastered: 170
Understanding and using simple characters and sentences, and preparing to continue learning the Chinese language. Pinyin/Latin alphabet is used to represent the sounds of Chinese.
HSK 2

Number of characters mastered: 347
Using the Chinese language in everyday speech. Pinyin/Latin alphabet is used to represent the sounds of Chinese.
HSK 3
Number of words learned: 600
Number of characters mastered: 617
Using the Chinese language in everyday communication, describing work or studying. Ability to use the Chinese language in conversation with Chinese people, while traveling in China, etc.
HSK 4
Number of words learned: 1200
Number of characters mastered: 1064
A wide range of topics that can be discussed in Chinese and making conversation with Chinese people at a higher level.
HSK 5
Number of words learned: 2500
Number of characters mastered: 1685
Ability to read newspapers and magazines in Chinese, watch Chinese movies and write speeches in Chinese.
HSK 6
Number of words learned: 5000
Number of characters mastered: 2663
Full understanding of all information in Chinese and easy communication on any topic.
