Pecka Outdoor Festival is a three-day festival taking place in the nature in the place Pecka nearby Mrkonjic Grad, organized to promote healthy lifestyle and healthy food and have families gather and spend time together in the nature. There are also various interesting outdoor activities organized for both the children and adults.
Representatives of the Confucius Institute were invited to take part in this event and show some traditional Chinese cultural activities to all the present at the festival.
Our Chinese professor Gao Yang demonstrated the martial art of Taijiquan, аnd many of the visitors joined her and tried enthusiastically to imitate her moves.
The Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute in Banja Luka Cai Ying performed the tea ceremony, a traditional cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of tea in China. She then served white tea, a rare type of tea that for centuries has been known for its health benefits in traditional Chinese medicine, which is grown in Asia, mainly in China.
Cai and Gao also demonstrated how Chinese dumplings are made and showed how chopsticks are used, which was especially interesting to the visitors of this festival.
This was how the representatives of the Confucius Institute introduced the spirit of China in the breathtakingly beautiful parts of our country.
