Learning Chinese Language Starts With Kids
Montessori Kindergarten Starts With Chinese Warm Up Lessons in Chinese Language Learning
The first warm up lessons in Chinese language learning started in Montessori Kindergarten in Banja Luka on 25 April 2018. In the picture, the local teacher Anja Mudrenovic is teaching children how to count to ten in Chinese language. They also learned how to say ’Hello, teacher!’ and ’Goodbye, teacher!’
Sitting in the classroom with Chinese knots and other Chinese cultural items hanging around them, children showed great interest in this oriental country and its culture. The kids were so eager to try this new language that they could hardly wait for their teacher to finish her words.
As soon as they saw the first Chinese characters, the kids immediately fell in love with them. Some of them ran to the white board and tried to “draw” them by themselves, while others turned to Anja to show them the strokes. Even though not perfectly drawn, the characters drawn and coloured by the kids were beautiful.
Ms Ljiljana Stevic, the Home Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka, and Ms Danijela Risović, the Director of Montessori Kindergarten, agreed to have the lessons and China related cultural activities be held once a week.
