Lecture on Chinese Animation at Banja Luka Grammar School

In honour of the Chinese New Year, the sinology students of the Faculty of Philology of the University of Banja Luka organised a lecture on Chinese animation for the Banja Luka Grammar School students on 12 February 2025, held in the Confucius Classroom of this school.
Students Marija Omčikus and Marija Gajić, former students of Banja Luka Grammar School, introduced the phenomenon of Asian animation, emphasising that Chinese animation is becoming increasingly popular. In the one-hour lecture, they gave an overview of the history and development of the art of animation in China, what shaped it and what it looks like today.
The Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival, is the most important holiday in China that marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring. Today, it is celebrated not only in China but also in many cities around the world as traditional and modern cultural and artistic events. These celebrations allow other nations to feel the charm of Chinese tradition and culture.
The Year of the Green Wood Dragon will last from 29 January 2025 to 16 February 2026.
