Professor Ljiljana Stević at the Roundtable for Sinologists in Belgrade

On 21 March 2025, Assistant Professor Ljiljana Stević, PhD, Confucius Institute Home Director and Head of the Sinology Department at the Faculty of Philology, University of Banja Luka, participated in the roundtable for sinologists as part of the project ‘PERSPECTIVE 2030 -Political-Economic Relations and Evolution of Social Patterns between China and Central and Eastern European Countries (Trends, Interactions, Variables, Engagement, Scenarios)’, held in Belgrade.


This event brought together experts, researchers and decision-makers in the field of sinology, who, with their analyses and recommendations, contribute to a deeper understanding of political, economic, social and diplomatic relations and predict trends, scenarios and patterns of interaction between the People's Republic of China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.


Assistant Professor Ljiljana Stević, PhD, spoke at the first roundtable workshop, where she presented her work on the development of the aforementioned project. The project concerns the introduction of Confucius Institutes and the Department of Sinology in 17 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, as well as their perspectives and development over the next five years.


The roundtable aimed to identify, through multidisciplinary discussion and analysis, key indicators that will shape political, economic and social relations between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe by 2030.


The PERSPECTIVES 2030 project is being implemented by researchers at the Institute for International Politics and Economics and is funded by the China-CEE Institute in Budapest.
