Directors of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka Shen Li and Ljiljana
Stevic and the professor and coordinator for the Chinese language courses Anja Mudrenovic
participated in the 2020 European Confucius Institute Forum, which was held online on 17
December 2020. The forum was organized by the Chinese International Education
Foundation and hosted by the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.
In their speeches, the Chairman of the University of International Business and Economics in
Beijing, Zhang Qingj, and the Vice President of the China International Education
Foundation, Feng Yunsheng, emphasized the importance of international cooperation
between the Confucius Institutes in the field of education and culture.
Representatives of the Confucius Institutes from UK, Ireland, Germany, Hungary, Bosnia and
Herzegovina and Spain talked at the forum about the need to define the new obligations of
the partners who founded the Confucius Institute. In doing so, they especially emphasized the
importance of strengthening cooperation with partner universities in China on specific
projects, academic research and joint conferences, as well as pedagogical methods of
teaching Chinese in order to achieve better results.
The Confucius Institutes forums are organized once a year so as to enable the Confucius
Institutes to meet and share their views and exchange their experiences related to the work of
the Confucius Institutes and its promotion and expansion. In addition to the European forum,
the American, African and Asian forums and the global conference of the Confucius
Institutes are also organized on an annual basis.
