Isidora Miljanović, a third-grade student of Banja Luka Grammar School, and Kristina Savić, a second-grade student of Doboj School of Economics, were awarded for the best essays on the contest organized by the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka in honour of the Olympic Winter Games in China in February this year.
The essays were written in English, and the topic was the Olympic Games slogan ’Together for a Shared Future’, whereby they had the freedom to write about anything that inspired them in connection with a given slogan.
According to the organizers of the Olympic Games, the motto represents the power of Games to overcome global challenges as a community, with a common future for humanity, with the goal of making the world work together for a better future.
You can read all the submitted essays on the website of the Confucius Institute, in the part related to the Club of Chinese Culture Lovers.
A similar essay writing contest is currently being held in China, and the essays of the second-grade Banja Luka Grammar School students Danilo Jakovljević and Jana Medarević have been selected and submitted to this contest. If they are chosen among the best, they will be published in the Chinese Journal of Essays, which will be published on the occasion of the Olympic Winter Games, hosted by the People's Republic of China this year.
