The Confucius Institute at Banja Luka University held the first tea ceremony in cooperation with the Robokids Education Center in its premises on 31 August 2018. While listening about and tasting different types of Chinese tea, the guests had the opportunity to learn more about the Chinese culture and tradition and about the different effects tea has on our health.
While performing traditional tea ceremony, the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute Cai Ying introduced our citizens with the significance and culture of drinking tea in China. She explained that Chinese tea is categorized into green, black, oolong, yellow and dark tea, according to different ways of production and different stages of the fermentation process.
Ms Ying talked about different preventive effects of tea leaves on our health and explained that Chinese people drink different types of tea in different seasons, for different health-related reasons.
With a cup of Chinese tea, the guests had the opportunity to for a moment feel the spirit of Chinese tradition and even to exchange a couple of words in Chinese.
Tea ceremony is an important part of the traditional Chinese culture and drinking different types of tea in China is, apart from being healthy, also a way of showing appreaciation for the beauty of everyday life.
