Chinese Movie Evening Organized at the Confucius Institute

On 26 March 2026, the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka organized a Chinese movie evening for students of the Institute's Chinese language courses and students of the Sinology Study Programme of the Faculty of Philology.

The screening of the 2021 film "Hi, Mom", selected by the Sinology students, brought together about thirty people, who had the opportunity to watch a recent film that talks about transgenerational relationships, but also depicts Chinese culture.

This film, directed by Jia Ling, is a touching and hilarious comedy that explores the depth of the relationship between a mother and daughter, as well as the generation gap and the immense effort to bridge it. Traveling through time to the 1980s, Jia Xiaoling gets the chance to meet her mother from her younger days. Through laughter and tears, she tries to give her mother the life she always thought she deserved, unaware that a mother's love is unconditional and timeless.
