Representatives of the Confucius Institute Visit Piskavica

The Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Banja Luka, Prof. Luo Xiaoru, and Chinese language teachers Guo Mucen, Wang Yihan, and Ren Zixuan visited Piskavica, near Banja Luka, on 12 May 2026 as part of the project “Green, Mystical Danube Storytelling Route.” The “Green and Mystical Danube Storytelling Route” is an innovative tourism initiative designed to highlight the hidden natural landscapes and intangible cultural heritage. It was established within the “Mystical Danube” project, co-funded through the Interreg Programme for the Danube Region. The project brings together 10 partners from 9 countries, while the coordinator for the Banja Luka area is the Banja Luka City Development Agency (CIDEA). Representatives of the Confucius Institute were invited to visit this area, where they had the opportunity to learn about the local natural and intangible cultural heritage, including traditions and local legends. This provided them with an authentic experience and presented the potential of rural tourism in the region.
