The promotion of the book “Yugoslavia and China: Histories, Legacies, Afterlives”, authored by Prof. Anastas Vangeli, PhD, and Prof. Dragan Pavlićević, PhD, was held on 4 February 2026 at the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Banja Luka.
The book explores the historical, cultural and political aspects of relations between Yugoslavia and China, as well as their legacies and afterlives. This publication represents a significant contribution to the study of international relations and East Asian studies, while the promotion provided an opportunity to discuss topics that remain relevant today within a broader global context.
The promotion was organized by the Confucius Institute of the University of Banja Luka, in cooperation with the Faculty of Philosophy and the Faculty of Philology.
Dragan Pavlićević, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Xi’an Jiaotong–Liverpool University in the People’s Republic of China, with which the University of Banja Luka has academic cooperation. His research primarily focuses on Chinese foreign policy, including contemporary China–Europe relations. He is also the author and editor of several books and numerous scholarly studies published by internationally recognized publishers and in academic journals.
Prof. Anastas Vangeli, PhD, Associate Professor at the School of Economics and Business of the University of Ljubljana, focuses on research into Global China, its ideational influence, and relations between Europe and China.
